Company History

In 1959 three brothers, Sheldon, Omer, and Melvin Gifford, pooled their resources and founded Gifford Electric, Inc. Melvin was unfortunately killed in an accident the following year and Sheldon and Omer continued a successful business relationship for 30 years. Within that time, significant growth occurred as the company developed its' Industrial and Commercial Construction Division and provided a Service/Maintenance Division for their customers. Sheldon retired from the business in 1989 and for the next four years, Omer began turning more and more of the business responsibilities to his successors passing along his knowledge and experience in business and financial operations to the next generation. In 1993, Omer retired and still serves as our wise counsel in business decisions today.

Also in 1993, Gifford Electric added the Systems Division to their list of electrical services. This allowed us to now provide not only the electrical power needs for our customers, but the computer, telephone and other low voltage system requirements as well. This makes us a one source contact for all electrical needs.

Currently Gifford Electric is managed by a highly qualified team of individuals that have been with the company for over a decade. The following is a brief description of their roles:

Michelle Carnivalli is the General Manager and President of the company. She holds the CMS certification required by the State of Nevada. She has been with the company for 23 years and oversees the business operations.

Ben Kutch is the Sales/Estimating Manager and holds the company's Master Electrician certification. He has been with the company for 33 years. He heads up the Sales & Estimating force and assures compliance with codes, ordinances and union standards.

Ronald Robinson is the lead electrical estimator. He has been with Gifford Electric for 22 years and is an IBEW certified electrician.

Barry Schultz manages our field staff and training. He is also IBEW certified and has been with us for 10 years.

Kody Stevens is in charge of the Service Department and our Purchasing Agent. He has also been with us for 11 years.

We are very proud of our staff. Our technicians are IBEW trained and certified by the leading Low Voltage Manufacturers. Our goal is to give the customer what they want the first time they ask. Our reputation and our successful 49 years are indications that we must be working hard to achieve the goal. Please let us know when we fall short.
